Tell Me Lies' Explosive Season 2 Trailer Is Here—And the Dynamics Are Still Toxic AF

View Date:2024-12-24 00:58:04

We're not telling you any lies—the season two Tell Me Lies trailer has arrived.

With the September 4 premiere date quickly approaching, Hulu dropped a two-minute teaser featuring characters Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen DeMarco (Jackson White), who are at odds following their breakup at the end of season one.

"I'm not even worried about him," Lucy says in the trailer as a clip of her and Stephen kissing is displayed. "I was in some sort of delusional state last year."

After dealing with the ups and downs of their tumultuous relationship—including his involvement in the death of her roommate—and Stephen leaving her for his ex-girlfriend, Alicia Crowder, Lucy is ready to fight back, especially when he continues to antagonize her at school.

"You're right, I am still mad," she tells Stephen while throwing his phone down a hallway. "And I know you probably love that but I swear if you keep doing this I will destroy your life."

As we see in the preview, Lucy is even trying to move on with a new love interest Leo, played by Thomas Doherty.

"You're not going to be awful to me," she asks Leo, "are you?"

To which he assures her, "No, I'm not."

Though, as hard as Lucy tries, she just can't seem to escape Stephen, who shows up as a new teaching assistant in her college class.

"While very much at odds, they find themselves in a new version of their addictive dynamic," an Aug. 8 press release explains, "which is as infuriating as it is inescapable. Meanwhile, the story expands deeper into the lives of Lucy and Stephen’s friend group, as the fallout from season one impacts all of their lives in unexpected ways."

The second season of Tell Me Lies—executive produced by Emma Roberts—premieres with two new episodes September 4 on Hulu.
